Jellyfish eat small fish, fish larvae, shrimp, tiny crustaceans such as krill and copepods, small shrimp and like organisms called amphipods and tiny plants such as algae and zooplankton, small crustaceans, and in some cases, small fish and other jellyfish also form part of their diet. They will sometimes eat other sea jellies.
Jellyfish eat by using their tentacles to capture prey. The tentacles have special cells that sting and paralyze the prey. Then, the jellyfish moves the prey to its mouth, which is located in the center of its body.
